Simple Armored Personnel Unit From Japan Instead of Zion

Have you remembered those impressive APUs (Armored Personnel Units) in Matrix Revolutions? Now a simple prototype of APU appeared in the street of Japan.

Skeletonics, a small team of students in Japan designed and created the incredible mechanical skeleton that very easily lets us remind of the Armored Personnel Unit in Matrix Revolutions. The wearable mechanical skeleton is called Skeletonics: a hybrid of Skeleton and Mechanics. Based on human motion, they took 6 months to complete the powerful suit that can extend the movement of the human’s arms and legs, and unlike traditional exoskeleton robots, the suit doesn’t need any motor. The suit is made from aluminum panels and pipes.

Limited Edition Bad Robot Collectible Figure

As we know, Bad Robot Productions produced many popular films and TV series like Star Trek, Lost, the upcoming Super 8, and etc. If you’re a faithful follower of the red robot, you might like to check the limited edition Bad Robot collectible figure.

This is our familiar red robot, the iconic mascot of J. J. Abrams’ co-named production company. The collectible toy figure measuring 10-inch tall is made of solid polystone, and painted by hand. DJ Sures’ Wall-E Robot

We have featured a remote-control Wall-E computer case, but apparently DJ Sures’ Wall-E robot is much clever than that case mod. If you’re curious, let’s go on checking.

DJ Sures, a Canadian robotics enthusiast use a U-Command Wall-E toy to create a real Wall-E robot that features modified servos and standard servos for tracks and the motions of arms and neck. The Wall-E robot is powered by an EZ-B Robot controller with EZ-Builder Robot Control software, plus the built-in camera in his eye, the smart Wall-E can track motion, color, or human faces, receive voice commands, or autonomously moves and explores. Android Like USB Hub

As a faithful Android fan, you must have collected many cute Android mini figures. But if you want a practical one, the following Android like USB hub may be able to catch your eyes.

Micro Pets-i is a smart tiny robot designed by Japanese company Takara Tomy. The difference from traditional robot is that Micro Pets-i has the cute animal shape, which is popular by girls and kids. Micro Pets-i first came out in 2002， and now they are re-launched after being improved by integrating more ai.

Micro Pets-i is something like a Tamagotchi, but it’s more interesting. They can do many things that you want them to do, walking around the desktop, chasing prey which you throw, singing as well communicating amongst themselves, and all you have to do is to slightly tap the table for giving the pet an order.

Not Decepticon Insect Transformers but Insect-like Robots

I’m not sure whether to exist some Decepticon Insect Transformers, but the video from Youtube is so amazing. However, we wouldn’t talk about the authenticity, but the handmade robotic insects by Adam Claflin.

As you see, the tiny insect-like robots have a simple but impressive body assembled with varied little components such as LEDs, resistors, USB jacks, and etc. Obviously, the tiny robots can’t transform, but some of them can be controlled by you through any universal remote control， and suck up juice through USB port (charging).

Make Rubik’s Cube-solving Robot with Lego Mindstorms Robotics Kit by Yourself

Star Wars R2-D2 emerges in our world

I believe every fan of Star Wars has not forgotten the cute robot R2-D2. But I guess you might know who the predecessor of the D2-D2 is.

Now, let me introduce its predecessor that was spotted on the bottomless Internet. In fact, the R2-D2 is a RC robot driven by steam engine. We don’t know the name of creator, but the Crabfu SteamWorks where the robot was found at.

The R2-D2 is assembled with one broken Hasbro R2-D2 Interactive Droid, two Wilesco D48 maine engines and Cheddar steam boiler. We don’t know what R2-D2 eat in Star Wars, but the RC R2-D2 eats the mixture of propane and butane. It seems so vintage as to be qualified as the predecessor of R2-D2.

I really appreciate the robotic idea in the Hajime Robot Restaurant, a Japanese restaurant which is located at Monopoly Park in Bangkok, Thailand.

Once customers order their sushi or other Japanese food through the touchscreen display set on each table, the samurai robot will delivery them to you in terms of their own process. Moreover, , the robots dressed up as the samurai can perform Japanese traditional dance for you at spare time.

The owner of the Hajime Restaurant, Lapassarada Thanaphant said she spent about $927,600 USD on the restaurant and four service robots from Japan. I believe it’s very worth. Everyone on the Internet will know the Hajime Robot Restaurant in Bangkok.

Amazing Giant Cardboard Robot Costume

What can some pieces of cardboard be used for? Apparently it’s not only used for a speaker. On cardboard we also can dress up as a giant cardboard robot.
