Just yesterday Sony announced its next-generation game console: PlayStation 4. The game console will be released in the holiday season this year. If you’re curious, let’s go on checking what fresh features have been packed in PlayStation 4.
No doubt PlayStation 4 will be one of the most important products by Sony. The powerful game console is based on a supercharged PC architecture, and comes with AMD 64-bit “Jaguar” 8-core processor, Radeon GPU proving 1.84 TFLOPS 8GB DDR5 RAM capable of 176GB/s of bandwidth, internal hard disk, and 6X Blue-ray drive (8X for DVDs). Other specs also include Ethernet port, Bluetooth 2.1 (EDR), WiFi, AV output, S/PDIF output, HDMI output, and USB 3.0.
Moreover, the game controller of PS4 is called DualShock 4. The game controller features an integrated touchpad offering more ways to interact with games, and the unique “Share” button allows you to broadcast your gameplay in real-time, while your fellow gamers can comment and even join your game. Additionally, DualShock 4 comes with a light bar with LED to identify your character in the game, and using a dual camera and four microphones the game controller is able to sense the depth of the environment in front of it, detect and locate sound source. Apart from that, motion control-enabled DualShock 4 has a D-pad, 2 analog sticks, 4 front-facing buttons, 4 shoulder buttons and built-in 1000mAh rechargeable battery.
Sony hasn’t unveiled the detailed pricing and release date of Sony PlayStation 4 at present. We have to wait patiently for further info from Sony official site. BTW, Sony PlayStation 4 will not support PS3 games. The first PS4 games include Snack, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son, Driveclub, and Blizzard’s Diablo 3 will also land on the game console.
