Cardsharp4 Metal Folding Credit Card Sized Knife Unveiled

Some of our readers might remember the ingenious folding credit card sized knife in the form of the Cardsharp which we featured here on Geeky Gadgets in the past. Now it’s designer Iain Sinclair has refined the design further and released the Cardsharp4 metal folding knife , which rather than using the folding plastic handle that sometimes twisted when applying extra pressure to the knife, now has a much more rigid metal handle.

The new metal Cardsharp4 metal knife is now available and has been CNC machined from a wafer thin strip of ultralight aluminium offering enhanced robustness and strength. Sinclair explains a little more about the design of the new metal Cardsharp4 knife:

“New construction with two-stage, child-proof Zytel safety lock helps prevent accidental opening and gives the knife excellent rigidity in both open and closed positions. The new improved Zytel rivet secures the blade to the body. Spring-loaded Nitinol hinges ensure the Cardsharp4 remains flat while in card mode with no sagging. A tough, heavy duty tool suitable for most types of cutting tasks.”

The Cardsharp4 knife measures 85.6 x 54 x 2.2mm and weighs just 24 grams and is made using Machined 6082T6 aluminium and 420 series surgical stainless steel and custom laser engraving is available if desired. For more information on the new Cardsharp4 metal knife jump over to the Iain Sinclair website for details and to purchase for £55.
