“The Eye Mirror Lens can simply screw onto the front of your video camera or DSLR. Using the compact adapter pictured below you can use your compact camera. The GP360 GoPro version has its own GoPro style housing that you can simply put the camera into.
The EyeMirror lens allows you to shoot interactive 360º degree video we call EyeVids or 360º still images. Simply point your camera up and start recording. Once you have finished shooting simply upload your video to our web site and then you can share links to your friends and family.
View the 360s with no processing immediately on your own computer, either PC, Mac, Apple IOS , Android or even on your Oculus Rift with head tracking!!! Software will be free, except for viewing on the Oculus (£55/$89) fee. But if we reach our stretch goal of £100,000 ($163,000). Will be free and refund all those who paid for it.”
“Resolution is everything for a virtual video environment. We currently have the highest resolution consumer 360 video device when our GP360 lens is partnered with the GoPro 3 black (+) and our firmware modification. High resolution is essential to drive the Oculus. We also deploy advanced techniques that simulate the 3D environment in a very realistic way to make 360x3D. This simulation also doubles the resolution without stretching the image. This then delivers close to double Quad HD per eye or 14xHD of data for the Oculus display to manipulate with our software. This is the same as a total of 22MP at 22 FPS or 11MP per eye. Our Oculus viewer samples the video at around 60 FPS for head movement. So the video will not be jerky as you move your head.”
The Eye Mirror project is currently over on the Kickstarter website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. So if you think Eye Mirror is something you could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge and help Eye Mirror become a reality.
