Samsung Sold Over 40 Million Tablets This Year, According to a report

The year is about to end, and it turns out 2013 turned out to be an impressive one for Samsung in terms of sales, not only of its smartphones, but also the tablets. According to a new report from Korean shores, Samsung has managed to sell over 40 million tablets this year along, with a special thanks to the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, along with a bunch of other cheaper tablets, which were available for attractive discounts during the holiday season. Some promotions even offered the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 free.

The last quarter turned out to be the best for the Korean OEM as they managed to sell almost 12 million tablets in the last quarter. According to FNN News, Samsung sold 9.1 million tablets in Q1 2013, 8.4 million units in Q2 and 10.5 million in Q3. The company had a goal to sell 40 million tablets this year, and when  reporters asked a Samsung rep if the company managed to achieve their goal, he replied,  “we don’t know yet, but we’ll check“.

No wonder why we’ve been hearing rumors that Samsung is working on a bunch of new tablets that will see the daylight at Mobile World Congress 2014, along with a bunch of other products.
There’s no official word from Samsung about the statistics, but we’ll update you if anything comes up.
