IMpulse is The World’s Smallest Gaming & Media Controller

We have seen mobile phones change in size over the years, most notably getting smaller and smaller in form factor until the explosion of touchscreen smartphones that eventually saw a movement in the opposite direction – that the display size itself starts to grow more and more, so much so an entire new category of devices had been created, being known as the “phablet”. Well, smartphones might be taking this particular design route, but not so with the $39.99 iMpulse, which is touted to be the smallest wireless controller for mobile devices in the world. Basically, with the iMpulse, you will be able to take full control of virtually any iOS or Android-powered Media Player app within a range of a hundred feet.

It will connect to a compatible device using Bluetooth technology, and can also double up as a camera remote with your smartphone. Ah, that means you will need to get one of those tripods with flexible legs in order to take full advantage of it. Samsung Has World’s Largest 110” UHD TV in Tow

It seems that owning a TV alone is not good enough these days, as one would do well to have a TV that is large in size. After all, there is nothing quite like having the feeling of bringing in the cinema experience to the living room, is there? Samsung intends to lead the way with the introduction of what they deem to be the world’s largest 110” UHD TV over at CES 2014.
Samsung has world’s largest 110” UHD TV in tow
Also known as the 110S9, this Samsung device is the world’s largest commercial Ultra High Definition TV, where it will sport some of Samsung’s innovative technologies including the Quadmatic Picture Engine that is touted to deliver unrivaled picture quality on 110S9’s 110” UHD screen, which would then bring to life its 800-megapixel display. We are talking about more than four times the number of pixels on a Full HD TV here, people.

Samsung expects to see additional demand grow for the 110” UHD TV market segment, where apart from rich folks who have way too much money to spare and spend, other clients would include government institutions, agencies and companies from around the world who want to have that “Wow!” factor when it comes to beautifying their offices and impressing all who step in.

This particular TV will arrive in the new rich markets of China, the Middle East, and Europe later this month, and you can bet your bottom dollar that folks from China as well as the Middle East will find it to be not an issue in purchasing one, or perhaps even two of these bad boys. After all, those are the places where the nouveau rich reside, and it is not out of their character to splurge just because they can. Needless to say, pricing details have yet to be revealed, but in this case, if you have to ask, you probably cannot afford it.

Bag Light Offers an Interesting Twist to a Staple Living Room Feature

Most living rooms or homes would come with a lamp, or at least several, which will dot the various parts of the house to give it ambient light and some warmth as and when required.
Bag Light offers an interesting twist to a staple living room feature
The thing is, most of the designs for these lamps happen to be boring and rather “dry”, so to speak. How about injecting a little bit of modernist art to the average table lamp? This is where the £34.99 Bag Light comes in handy!

The Bag Light basically delivers a modern and simple twist on a disposable object, where it results in a soft and warm diffused glow. You would be able to use this as the ideal uplight or night light, and we would strongly recommend against using this to carry your groceries of course.

To soothe that eco-warrior spirit in you, the Bag Light happens to be made out of recyclable materials, and it is also a whole lot more safer and longer-lasting compared to placing tealights in a paper bag. The Bag Light will definitely be able to fool folks into thinking that this is some sort of paper bag at first glance, until the magic of electricity powers it on.
Available for purchase on Firebox.

How about flirting with the water cooler instead?

Most of the time, plenty of gossip and some of the more tempting conversations happen around the water cooler at the office, and if there was a smart person who would love to make plenty of money, he or she would have come up with a water cooler that has the hidden abilities of recording conversations and perhaps throw in a video camera for good measure.
How about flirting with the water cooler instead?
Now that would certainly be the cause of many a lawsuit if the recorded people were to find out about it, btu thankfully, this unique water cooler invention is not that snoopish. In fact, this is an office water cooler that would want you to flirt with it

This unique water cooler is the brainchild of a Microsoft intern who is better known as Halley Profita. Right now, is working her way to earn her Ph.D. at the University of Colorado Boulder through the creation of clothes that will feature computer sensors.

Who knows, if Profita goes far enough in her chosen career, the very shirt that you wear some time down the road might actually come with the relevant kind of sensors which will be able to keep track of your health condition while you are on the move

Back to this unique office water cooler. Profita’s summer internship at Microsoft certainly sounds like an extremely fun and profitable one, since her invention of this water cooler has been augmented with a Kinect sensor, allowing this water cooler to “flirt” with you. Just how does it work?

Well, the Kinect sensor is there for a purpose – whenever you are near it, it will be able to tell that there is a human presence. Obviously the kind of colors that it emanates will have a difference in its mood, and if you choose not to interact with it despite having it detect your presence nearby, it would glow differently to denote its current mood. Not the best therapist for sure, and neither is it as juicy as normal office gossip, but at least your other half won’t get jealous of you hanging out with a machine!

I would dare to venture and say that when it comes to those who read books and magazines, this particular crowd can be divided into two – the first who absolutely love all their books, that they loathe to loan it out to others, while the second group would not mind sharing the same book all around, and think that books should be read well – which means folding “dog ears” to mark the position where you have stopped reading to return to later. Iron Man ArtFX Statue does more than just stand pretty on your desk

Iron Man is one superhero who is nothing but flesh and bone underneath that high tech suit, but he is also one of the coolest thanks to the brilliant mind of Tony Stark hiding behind the mask. Well, here we are with the $129.99 Iron Man ArtFX Statue that would arrive in the form of an extremely detailed Mark XLII armor, sporting LED lighting in the Arc Reactor/Unibeam, eyes, and repulsor areas. Of course, it goes without saying that this is an officially licensed Marvel collectible, so do not fret and wonder whether you are handing over good money for a bootlegged product.
Iron Man ArtFX Statue does more than just stand pretty on your desk
Since it is the Mark XLII that we are talking about, it would make perfect sense (some might even call it, paying homage) that you would piece this particular Iron Man together from separate pieces. If you do not have any experience at all when it comes to building models, fret not, since it will not require such a skill set in the first place, and neither does it require you to implant computer chips into your forearms. All in all, there are just half a dozen pieces which have been pre-painted, and they would snap together in a rather satisfying manner. Hence, this is a “statue” and not a “model,” although you can be sure that it does straddle the lines on both territories at once. A trio of LR44 batteries are required to juice this puppy to have it looking nice on your mantel.

Genius DVR-HD500D Dual Lens Vehicle Recorder settles accident disputes once and for all

Have you ever been involved in a fender bender before? Whenever there are no other eyewitnesses around other than you and the other person in the vehicle, it is only your word and the other person’s after lodging an accident report. If only there was a way for the authorities to see that you were totally not at fault apart from a verbal presentation. That is made possible with vehicle recorders, but the folks over at Genius have gone one step further with the Genius DVR-HD500D Dual Lens Vehicle Recorder that has just been announced to go for sale in North America.
Genius DVR-HD500D Dual Lens Vehicle Recorder settles accident disputes once and for all
The Genius DVR-HD500D Dual Lens Vehicle Recorder will see a couple of vehicle recorders, connected via a cable, do a fantastic job of making sure that nothing goes unnoticed in the event of an accident. There will be one recorder that is located on the front windshield, where it will record in 720p, while there will be another one that is located on the rear windshield, recording in 480p so that you have both ends covered. The Genius DVR-HD500D will be able to record road conditions that are both in front and behind the vehicle, simultaneously, where its 130 degree wide angle view and high-definition video capture would pave the way for excellent video quality during playback – which is extremely crucial when you need to pony up evidence that it is not your fault in an accident.
It made me wonder actually, how come standard vehicle recorders will only capture what is in front, and not behind? Looks like the folks over at Genius have already answered this particular issue, and just so that you know, the rear recorder will be hooked up to the DVR via a 19 feet long cable. Each time your vehicle is started, the recording will commence automatically, which means that all important evidence will be retained. All data will be stashed away on a microSDHC memory card, and the Genius DVR-HD500D will retail for $169 if you’re interested.

Smurf Booklight brings some smurfi-ness into your life

I am not sure about you, but I find the idea of blue characters running around the place, being extremely small in size, to be rather cute. Especially when they have been turned into a couple of mediocre full motion pictures that delight the kids more than the parents who are viewing it with their little ones.
Smurf Booklight brings some smurfi-ness into your life
Well, one thing is for sure – the $19.99 Smurf Booklight is a surefire way of earning even more money for the Smurf empire in terms of merchandise, and hey – if it happens to be one of the few ways to encourage your little ones to start picking up the reading habit, why not?
The Smurf Booklight has been modeled right after AstroSmurf, where this star-bound Smurf’s jet pack will hold a couple of bright white LED lights (which are obviously energy efficient, of course), as it clips itself
securely to your books using a cool red rocket. Accompanying the Smurf Booklight would be a flexible goose neck cable which makes sure that you will always end up with the necessary kind of coverage required. Three AAA batteries are required to power this Smurf Booklight that measures 2.5” in height, making us wonder whether that is, in fact, the actual height of a smurf. After all, no live specimens have ever been captured for further study, right?
