Nintendo Wii U Game Console Unveiled

Nintendo unveiled its latest game console Wii U at E3 Expo 2011. How do we define the revolutionary game console? A tablet styled game console, portable console, or anything else? Let’s go on checking.

Nintendo Wii U game console consists of two parts, including the main console and its unique game controller. As we can see from the images, the game controller features tablet look, and comes with full game control system and a 6.2-inch, 16:9 touch screen. As the most unique part, the game controller of Wii U can not only display the game you’re playing at home, but also show you a special game interface that allows you to create your tactics in video games. And the touch screen also allows you to more interact with the game on your TV. Moreover, Wii U game controller doubles as a tablet that allows you to browse web pages, draw, make a video chat, and etc.
Nintendo Wii U uses IBM Power-based multi-core processor and custom-designed AMD Radeon HD GPU, and supports up to 1080p video output. On the storage side, Nintendo Wii U will have built-in flash memory and the option to expand the storage via SD card or external hard disk, and it will also use slot-loading disc drive compatible with Wii U disc with 25GB storage capacity.
